News about the campaign

Basic information about the campaign was published on the website of the Slovak Astronomical Society and the Slovak Union of Astronomers. The text is identical on both links:

We presented the results of the campaign at the HaF meeting in Bojná from 19 to 21 September 2025. Their own presentations had Pavol A. Dubovský, Karel Kolomazník and Drahoš Volný. There has been a lot of discussion about both data collection and processing methods. As for the test objects, more data still needs to be collected, it was not possible to meet everything that was planned. For the winter season, we add more objects. It will also be necessary to add data to the field in the area of Z Cam. So far, we have 378 hours of total usable exposure time. That’s very little given the number of telescopess involved. This is also evidenced by the unfavorable climate in Central Europe.

Low number of clear nights in our country call for the transfer of observational technique to better locations. That is why we will participate in a workshop on robotic telescopes, which begins on October 6 in Almeria, Spain. The event page is https://astrorob.com/. Karol Petrík and Pavol A. Dubovský will be presenting the campaign through poster. Its preview is available:

We were also invited to the conference of Czech variable stars observers https://www.astro.cz/clanky/ostatni/57-konference-o-vyzkumu-promennych-hvezd.html. This is an opportunity to get more contributors to the campaign. The conference is held in Ondřejov, November 7 to 9, 2025. The campaign will be presented by Pavol A. Dubovský and Karel Kolomazník. We encourage other astrophotographers to participate. Converging with variable stars observers is a natural process. Experience with another form of work will certainly be an enrichment.
